Erich Performs Live on Radio 104.5

On Oct 17th, 2008 Matt, Rick, and I were fortunate enough to play two live songs on Radio 104.5: "Greener" and the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ "Breaking the Girl." Thanks to those that made it out to the studio. We were very satisfied with the whole experience. The live songs are available for play on myspace.

"Greener" Hits Local Airwaves

Greener is now available for play on 93.7 WSTW and 88.5 WXPN. It was played for the first time on WSTW's Hometown Heroes program on Sunday October 5, 2008. I’ve been told its been played on WXPN as well, although I haven’t heard it myself. If you like the song, you can contact either station and request it for play.

Erich Plays Philly Song Shuffle

Matt and I recently played the Philly Song Shuffle held at World Café Live. If you don't know, the Philly Song Shuffle is an annual event held at WCL showcasing the best of Philadelphia's singer-songwriters. All 50 of us played only one song each, with four seconds of silence between each song for a total of 3 hours of live music. Matt and I had a great time getting to know the other musicians. My favorites for the evening were Dirk Quinn, Jim Boggia, Two Man Gentlemen Band, and Vicki Genfan.

One Day Won on new CD

One Day Won was chosen for Quickstar Productions annual Chill Out compilation CD. The CD will be heavily distributed by digital means. Check out QuickStar Productions or myspace.com/quickstarproductions for more details.

Adventist Musicians Guild Award

A few months ago I received a letter in the mail stating that I was nominated for an award by the Adventist Musicians Guild. The "Guild" is an extension of the Seventh-Day Adventist church, of which I'm also a member. The awards ceremony took place at the world headquarters last Sunday, April 27, just outside of Washington, D.C. Although I felt completely out of place among organ PhD's, violin solos, and band conductors, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I won the category of "Minister of Music."

The moment was quite gratifying and came at just the right time, as we had played a somewhat depressing show the night before in NYC. I'm thankful that the church recognizes my commitment to Jesus and my commitment to bring hope and empowerment to human beings through music. It is a testimony to their spiritual maturity and to their willingness to see beyond generational and cultural boundaries.
